Mozdev Projects by Application

A nice new feature at mozdev.org is the ability to see what Mozilla applications the extensions/themes/other XPI thingies are are targeted at. This is not only useful for searching, but gives a good bird’s eye view of what apps that developers deem worth working with. Of course, the numbers don’t reflect the real popularity of the apps from an extensibility point of view, because a) some projects host their own extensions like Songbird, and/or b) developers use AMO exclusively or their own hosting solution.

Oh, and while you are there, check out our new tags listing. If you have a project, be sure to submit some for it to make the feature more useful for users.

Brian, where does the data come from? Is it extracted from all XPIs in the download directory? Because I see Adblock Plus listed under Mozilla and Netscape which are no longer supported – but not under eMusic Remote that is supported but not in any release version yet. It would probably make more sense to look for install.rdf in CVS…
