FOSDEM 08 Run-Up Round-Up

FOSDEM, the Free and Open Source Software Developers' European Meeting

The event is happening in less than 2 weeks, so I wanted to fill you in on the latest news from a Mozilla perspective.

- The schedule is now frozen and up on the FOSDEM site, notwithstanding some minor errors and omissions:

For more detailed descriptions of the talks, go to:

- If you are attending and requested sponsorship, you should have heard from someone from Mozilla about the hotel, how to handle expenses, travel, and so on. If not, expect to hear from them soon.

- The extensions workshop is happening on the Sunday (24th), from 09:00 to 10:30. It will be led my Mark Finkle and Carsten Book. Philipp Kewisch will in parallel be holding a hands-on workshop aimed at encouraging developers to participate in the Mozilla Calendar Project. Please try to drum up some interest for this, and come along if you want to get advice on your extensions or to help others out with your knowledge. I expect there to be more interest in this the closer we get to the event.

- Dinner (and perhaps bowling) on Saturday evening will take on more significance this year, doubling as a 10th anniversary celebration. Video cameras might be roaming around taking testimonials from contributors on what your role is, what Mozilla means to you, and whatever other anecdotes that you wish to share. So be sure to wear your best glad rags, or your 2000 Developer Meeting t-shirt to prove your street cred!
