If you haven’t heard already, there is a new extension for Firefox called AllPeers. In essense it is a collaboration and sharing tool centered around a buddy list system. It is not yet released, so it would be unfair to make judgements at this stage. However, it certainly does look like a fantastic showcase of Mozilla technologies, following in the footsteps of extensions like Sage and Performancing, and applications such as Komodo, Angelsoft and Songbird (to name but a few).
TechCrunch heralds it as being a possible “Killer App” for Firefox.
… this single firefox extension will massively increase the attractiveness of that already popular browser, drawing more millions away from embattled Internet Explorer.

They’re doing pretty well for publicity and they haven’t even released it yet. While it’s features look impressive I don’t think many of us will define it as a “Killer App” until they release a better preview or the actual extension itself.
Matthew, I completely agree. It’s a heavy burden to be labelled so even before a release.
As if having an old system (windows98se) isn’t bad enough, I can’t even keep the current version of the Firefox Browser running. Even with added memory (191mb), I get errors in the middle of my work and…..it’s gone, Firefox shuts down. I NEVER had any of these problems until I “upgraded”. I LOVED my Mozilla Firefox browser–sometimes I think that making one thing bettter may in some way cause complications in another way. Lets not give Kudos until we have experienced the product!!
