Playing with (the) Firefox CCK

No, I haven’t signed for a Turkish football team, rather I’m referring to the Firefox Client Customization Kit. I was doing a bit of research a few weeks back for Firefox customisation options for one of our clients, and (re)discovered the CCK. So I contacted Michael Kaply with some queries, and that set the ball rolling for some continued development.

Firefox CCK.

The source code has recently been checked into the trunk at extensions/cck/, and thats where you will have to go to get the latest and greatest because the XPI posted on the project page is not up to date (we’ll update it soon I’m sure). If you do choose to build it, you’ll need to add cck to your list of extensions in .mozconfig. For example:

ac_add_options –enable-extensions=default,cck

Michael’s busy adding a couple of new features, and I’m providing patches to tidy up the layout and make the user experience better. Feedback welcome.

I’ll give it a try over the weekend… I didn’t know that mkaply is still doing mozilla related work. Nice.

Abdulkadir: it was just a joke … a bad one at that. I could have said Swedish or some other country, with equal effect.

Daniel: It doesn’t work with XULRunner *yet*.
